Losing the baby weight

Image
The lose weight this year resolution might be the most cliché one of all right? Am I really going to be THAT person? #sorrynotsorry ya'll but I am. I had Henry in September and got down to my pre-Henry weight in less than 3 months which was totally awesome. Woohooo, go me! I lost 15lbs in October, 10lbs in November, and 5lbs in December. UGH WHHHHYYYYYYYYYY. Sure, the Holidays probably had something to do with, and also going back to work and not having as much time to go to the gym during the day, and possibly the shorter days meaning less walks/runs because we leave the house for work and it's dark and we get home after work and it's dark. The excuses can go on for days. I could work out more when the kids go to sleep but that would mean that Henry cooperates and goes to sleep when the older two do. And that also would mean that I don't fall asleep with Henry because that's what happens 75% of the time. Unless I have homework to do, in which case, I make Matt wak...

Family Hiking Time

Matt's unit met up at a park with a trail running course one morning and he invited me to come along. Of course I'm in no shape to run right now and even walking long distances results in some not so fun pelvic pain, but I wanted to go knowing full well I wouldn't complete that 5 mile loop....yet! Despite our awesome jogging stroller, it wasn't made for a trail so we grabbed the Kelty backpack instead, which of course, Matt wore. This trail is, like I already said, 5 miles long, and circles a lake. Plenty of elevation changes and absolutely gorgeous! I hope to come back and attempt to run that thing (and finish it) once I'm in running shape again.  Jellybean loves being in the backpack. And he loves being outside. He had such a great time oooo-ing and awwww-ing over everything. He was fascinated! It must have worn him out because that kid knocked out in the backpack. He kept flopping around but it didn't wake him up!  Anyway, I had to go back to work th...

Running With A Baby

Image
Our First Race I pretend to like running- when in reality, the whole time I'm doing it I hate everything about it. I run to get away with eating sugar...I run because it just seems like the right thing to do...and I run because the military makes us and I sure as hell won't be the last one to finish or the first one to fall out of a formation run. Finally, I run because I like clothes... Probably all the wrong reasons to want to go running, but at least I'm doing it right? I should say I run to stay healthy, for the runner's high, because it let's me think....but honestly, it's something I do everyday as a CHORE. I dread the minutes leading up to it and count the minutes til it ends. Ok, maybe I made it sound more awful than it really is....because if I hate it so much, why would I pay money to run races right? .....Matt says I just like getting medals :) He knows me so well. Shortly after moving to Virginia, I wanted to set running goals for myself, 5K, 10...
